WASHINGTON (92 News) – US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Alice Wells has showed deep concern over the continued detention of political leaders and imposition of restrictions on internet in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).
Alice Wells expressed her concern in a Tweet in Washington.

On the other hand, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells will reach Pakistan on January 19 for four-day visit.
According to the sources, Alice Wells is scheduled to start her South Asia trip from Sri Lanka. She will be in Colombo January 13-14.
In her visit to Pakistan, Alice Wells will hold meetings with the civil and military leadership of Pakistan to discuss regional peace and security.
The US top official will also meet members of civil society to discuss issues of bilateral and regional concern, the department said.
Before coming to Pakistan, the principal deputy assistant secretary of state for South and Central Asian Affairs will be in India for four days.

The two-day tour would be attended by envoys from the Latin America and Africa. Diplomats from Australia and several Gulf nations, who were expected to go, have dropped out due to what they called ‘scheduling’ reasons.
An official of the EU told the media that the EU envoys did not want a guided tour of Occupied Kashmir. “We want to meet people freely of our own choosing.”
The official said that some of the envoys are also keen on meeting the three former chief ministers, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.
