ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Foreign Office (FO) has summoned a senior diplomat from the Indian High Commission (HC) and lodged a strong protest over ceasefire violations on the line of control (LoC).
An Indian HC has been summoned to the FO, to register Pakistan’s strong protest at the ceasefire violations by Indian occupation forces along the LoC, which resulted in serious injuries to an innocent civilian man.
The FO spokesperson said that due to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by the Indian forces in Satwal Sector of LoC, 45 year old Muhammad Safeer resident of village Madarpur, sustained serious injuries.
Condemning the targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian occupation forces, it was underscored that such senseless Indian acts are clear violation of the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding and complete disregard for international human rights and international norms.
He also said India cannot divert world attention from the worsening human rights situation in the Indian-held Jammu Kashmir (IHK).
Pakistan called upon the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding; investigate the current and previous incidents of deliberate ceasefire violations and maintain peace along the LoC and the Working Boundary.
It was also urged that India should permit the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan to play its mandated role as per the UNSC Resolutions.
A day earlier, Indian troops resorted to unprovoked fire in Satwal sector along the line of Control (LoC) on Saturday, deliberately targeting civilian population.
According to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), a 45-year-old resident of village Madarpur sustained serious injuries due to indiscriminate firing. The injured has been evacuated to nearby medical facility for necessary medical care.
On January 25, a woman was injured due to Indian unprovoked fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Chirikot sector.
The 21-year-old woman, a resident of Serian Village, sustained serious injuries and was evacuated to a nearby medical facility.
On December 19, at least two civilians were martyred and three Pakistan Army soldiers were injured when Indian troops targeted civilian population across the Line of Control (LoC).
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Indian troops resorted to unprovoked fire in Laswa village of Neelum Valley across LOC, targeting civilian population. Two civilians embraced martyrdom, while three other people including a woman were injured.
Pakistan army troops responded effectively targeting Indian post which initiated fire, the statement added. Those who were martyred have been identified as 14-year-old Shehryar and 29-year-old Naveed resident of Laswa village.
India has continuously been breaching a ceasefire along the LoC.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmad Shah on Sunday while declaring Indian war hysteria a threat to the region said that Pakistan on February 5 will show the world the atrocities being committed by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.
Talking to media in Nankana Sahib on Sunday, he said that there were no differences between the government and coalition partners, adding that the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has its own and allied parties have also their manifesto.
Speaking about the economic condition, the minister said that the PTI government inherited the worst economic crisis in the history with biggest current account deficit and fiscal deficit, however, the country’s economy has stabilized following tough decisions taken by the government.
Ijaz Shah went on to say that the Indian forces have been brutalizing Kashmiris for decades, adding that the Kashmir remains under strict military siege on the for the past six months.
“Pakistan is peaceful and safe country for sports,” he said and added holding Kabaddi World Cup in Pakistan is a welcoming step. We will provide best security to the teams participating in the Kabaddi World Cup.
